Welcome to www.brookhavenfd.com
Proudly serving Brookhaven and parts of Shirley, Bellport and Yaphank since 1923. The Brookhaven Fire Department was founded May 10, 1923. We exist to serve and protect the lives and property of the Brookhaven Fire District, Long Island, New York. The Brookhaven Fire Department covers a large area - from Brookhaven Hamlet to William Floyd Parkway in Shirley, north to the Long Island Expressway and south protecting the shores of the Great South Bay. We are made of pure volunteers - members of the community who have taken it upon themselves to help those in need of assistance during times of trouble. We thank you for your support!
Fund Drive Now In Progress!
Dear neighbor and friend of the Brookhaven Fire Department,
This year, The Brookhaven Fire Department celebrates 100 years of service. Through the last century and beyond, we have always pursued our mission to help others and this will never change. With the support of our community and keeping our organization’s top priorities at the forefront, the Brookhaven Fire Department will continue to offer the highest level of service and commitment to all who reside in our community.
Our 100th Anniversary Celebration will be held on Saturday, September 23rd, 2023 at our fire headquarters, all are invited to attend! The parade is to begin at 2:00 pm with a celebration to follow. We hope to see you all there.
On behalf of The Brookhaven Fire Department, we would like to thank each of you who generously supported last year’s fund drive with your selfless contributions. This year we ask you once again to extend your support through your tax-deductible donations. Your generosity helps us continue to provide our community with the best fire protection possible. As you know, the Brookhaven Fire Department serves the Hamlet of Brookhaven, parts of Yaphank, Bellport, North Bellport, and a large portion of Shirley on the west side of William Floyd Parkway.
The Brookhaven Fire Department is made up entirely of volunteers who do not receive any monetary
compensation for the countless hours they put into providing their services to the community. Without any
motivation other than to assist our neighbors, the firefighters of our department respond to numerous fire calls, carbon monoxide alarms, gas/electric utility emergencies, and countless motor vehicle accidents 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. In addition, the members of the department attend many hours of training and drills throughout the year to stand ready to serve you at a moment’s notice.
Our in-house dedicated fire safety experts help educate your youth in fire prevention and in-home safety by
attending elementary schools and holding “hands-on training” in both the South Country Central School District and the William Floyd School District. The Brookhaven Fire Department continues to be involved within our community by sponsoring such events as our Annual Memorial Day Parade and Memorial Service, Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, Operation Santa, Blood Drives, and many other events.
The welcoming of our 100th Anniversary brings to light just how appreciative we are of our volunteers, who day in and day out give so much to this organization. Without our members, achieving 100 years of service would have been impossible. We always welcome members of our community who have the desire to serve. If you or anyone else is interested in joining our mission, please reach out anytime.
We are always there for you, ready to respond to any and every emergency that our neighbors may face. Please
consider helping us to help you by making your tax-deductible contribution in the enclosed self-addressed
envelope. I, along with the entire membership, would like to thank you for your consideration and willingness to support the men and women of the Brookhaven Fire Department.
